Ministry to test Runet sustainability in drills on Dec 23

MOSCOW, Dec 19 (PRIME) -- Russia will hold drills regarding provision of sustainable, safe and integral functioning of the internal Internet on December 23, and the public will not take notice of it, the Digital Development Ministry’s press secretary Yevgeny Novikov told reporters on Thursday.

“It’s true that we’ll conduct drills on December 23 regarding integrity, sustainability of functioning and security of the Internet, the Internet of Things and different segments of public networks, fixed-line and mobile, against negative external influences. The drills will take place under the so-called law on the sustainable Runet and are of a research kind,” Novikov said.

“Threats will be tested only on designated segments, stands and sites, and ordinary users will not notice anything.”

Such drills will become regular, he said.
